Activities & Experiences:
- Day 1: Arrival – Colombo
Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our tour representative and transferred to Colombo, the lively capital of Sri Lanka. After checking in at your hotel, set out on an afternoon city tour. Discover a vibrant mix of old and new—visit the National Museum, Independence Square, the Galle Face Green promenade, and bustling markets. Enjoy colonial-era architecture alongside modern skyscrapers. Return to your hotel for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
- Day 2: Colombo – Polonnaruwa – Sigiriya
After breakfast, journey toward the Cultural Triangle, stopping at the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Polonnaruwa features impressive ruins including the Gal Vihara statues, Lankatilaka, and the Royal Palace complex. Continue to Sigiriya and check into your hotel. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay, preparing for a memorable adventure to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress the next morning.
- Day 3: Sigiriya – Dambulla – Kandy
After breakfast, climb the awe-inspiring Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an ancient citadel built atop a giant rock formation, featuring frescoes, landscaped gardens, and historical significance. En route to Kandy, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, famous for its richly painted interiors and large Buddha statues. Stop at a spice garden in Matale to discover the secrets of Sri Lanka’s aromatic spices. Upon arrival in Kandy, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic and enjoy a cultural dance performance in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Kandy.
- Day 4: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
Start your day with a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, home to over 4,000 species of plants. Drive past scenic Upper Lake Drive and then head to Nuwara Eliya, often called ‘Little England’ for its cool climate and colonial charm. En route, stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to observe rescued elephants in a natural habitat. Visit a tea plantation to learn about the art of Ceylon tea production. In the evening, explore the serene town of Nuwara Eliya. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
- Day 5: Nuwara Eliya – Yala
After breakfast, set off for Yala, home to Sri Lanka’s most renowned national park. In the afternoon, enjoy an exciting wildlife safari in Yala or Bundala National Park, where you may spot leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and vibrant birdlife. After the safari, check in to your hotel in Tissamaharama. Relax and enjoy dinner, surrounded by the tranquility of the southern wilderness.
- Day 6: Yala – Galle – Colombo / Beach Extension
After breakfast, travel to the coastal city of Galle. Explore the Galle Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that boasts beautifully preserved colonial architecture, cobbled streets, quaint cafes, and stunning ocean views. After the tour, you will either be transferred to the airport for your departure flight or dropped off at your preferred beach resort for an extended stay.
