Activities & Experiences:
- Day 1: Arrival – Colombo
Begin your journey with a warm welcome at Bandaranaike International Airport by a Hope Lanka representative. You’ll be transferred to your hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s bustling commercial capital. In the afternoon, set out on a guided city tour to explore colonial architecture, vibrant markets, and iconic landmarks like Independence Square and Galle Face Green. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
- Day 2: Colombo – Pinnawala – Sigiriya
After breakfast, travel to Sigiriya, with a fascinating stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can witness the care and feeding of rescued elephants. After lunch, ascend the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient frescoes, royal gardens, and breathtaking views. Dinner and overnight stay in Sigiriya.
- Day 3: Sigiriya – Dambulla – Kandy
Depart after breakfast toward the cultural capital of Kandy. Along the way, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a complex of five caves adorned with murals and statues of the Buddha. Explore a Batik Factory and a Spice Garden in Matale, learning about Sri Lanka’s artisanal crafts and spice traditions. In Kandy, enjoy a city tour including a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and conclude with a vibrant Kandyan cultural dance show. Overnight in Kandy.
- Day 4: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, journey into Sri Lanka’s scenic highlands to Nuwara Eliya, affectionately known as “Little England.” En route, explore the lush Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, stop by a Gem Museum & Factory, and visit a Tea Plantation & Factory where you can learn about the island’s famed Ceylon tea. Capture views of cascading waterfalls before settling in for a cozy overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
- Day 5: Nuwara Eliya – Kitulgala – Negombo
Start your day with a trip to Kitulgala, a verdant riverside town famed as the filming location for The Bridge on the River Kwai. Enjoy an adventurous white-water rafting experience on the Kelani River, surrounded by rainforest scenery. After your adrenaline-filled morning, return to the Plantation Hotel for refreshments. Later, transfer to the coastal town of Negombo for a relaxing beachside overnight stay.
- Day 6: Negombo – Colombo Airport (CMB)
After breakfast, enjoy your final moments by the sea before being transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure. Take with you memories of a culturally rich and naturally stunning journey through Sri Lanka.
